For the Gucci Men’s Autumn Winter Collection, the starting point is marked by a new take on traditional English fabrics. The collection features a sophisticated taste for textiles meeting novel constructions and silhouettes, coupled with oversize proportions, and rounded with elements borrowed from the cavalry soldier’s wardrobe.
Interrupting the discipline of grey and black, vibrant earthy tones and prints are presented. The collection features the likes of suits in formal English fabrics, which take on newly eased lines and refined sartorial details, pleated pants with soft lines on the hips and a new tuxedo, designed from day wear or unconventional fabrics.
A variety of colours make an appearance such as Robin’s egg blue, winter white, ochre, orange, burnt red, parsley green and tweed. From the recognisable Gucci equestrian tradition, the riding whip inspires handles for leather and crocodile travel bags, as well as leather horsebit bracelets.
“The Gucci man expresses his inherently free spirit with bold nonchalance,” explains Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini. “He returns to a sartorial tradition only to live it on his own terms – pairing formal and informal as he likes. This is a contemporary gentleman with a romantic soul.”
