In the month of May we hosted two exclusive press screening for our client G-Star Raw at the G-Star stores in V & A Waterfront & Sandton City.
Created by i-D for G-Star RAW, The Plastic Age is a short documentary exposing the extent of pollution in our oceans.
Directed by Jake Sumner and featuring Pharrell Williams, The Plastic Age reveals the extensity of plastic waste in our oceans. Shedding light on positive solutions, the documentary reveals the remarkable lengths scientists, activists and fashion labels are going to, to secure our oceans for future generations.
“The ocean yields so much life, including our own. We owe it.” – Pharrell Williams in The Plastic Age
The documentary studies RAW for the Oceans, a partnered collaboration initiated by Parley for the Oceans with G-Star RAW and Bionic Yarn – a progressive textile producer where Williams is Creative Director. Turning plastic into fibres for use in fabrics, the project combines science, fashion, and activism with powerful results.
Coinciding with the launch of the latest RAW for the Oceans collection, pro surfer Matt Bromley hosted the private screenings of The Plastic Age at G-Star stores in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
