SHANGHAI April 19, 2012 – Gucci is pleased to announce that on Saturday April 21, Creative Director Frida Giannini will mark her return to China with three exclusive events occurring throughout the day.
In the morning Giannini will host a cocktail bunch in honour of Li Bing Bing, at the historic Wai Tan Yuan, where Gucci’s new advertising campaign starring the Chinese actress will be revealed. Dedicated to the House’s handbags, jewellery and watches, the campaign features both classic accessories based in Gucci tradition as well as new styles destined to become timeless pieces.
Then, in the evening, Wai Tan Yuan will also play host to Giannini’s first-ever fashion show in China. Giannini will present her critically acclaimed Fall/Winter 2012-2013 Collection to 600 specially invited guests. Celebrities scheduled to attend include Hilary Swank, Lapo Elkann, Bryan Ferry, Li Bing Bing, Yang Mi, Huo Si Yan, Chen Kun, Feng Shao Feng, Peng Yu Yan, and Wu Zun. The show ensures that China’s fashion capital will enjoy an unprecedented preview of next season’s men’s and women’s collections, only shown before on the House’s Milan runway.
A private party will follow on the Rock Bund, a location conceived exclusively for the occasion. The GUCCI CLUB will span three floors and host distinctive themes within each of the lounges. Party-goers will have the opportunity to view a display of Gucci Première evening gowns from the House’s Florentine archive, including the couture dress worn by Hillary Swank to the 2011 Oscars ceremony. Live DJ set performances include 2ManyDJs and Michel Gaubert followed by Bryan Ferry who will take the stage for an exclusive performance followed by a DJ set by Isaac Ferry.
