Dolce and Gabbana cause a rumble in the Jungle

Never one to shy away from statement-making pieces, Dolce & Gabbana has unleashed a 24K gold-gilded leopard print bicycle – just in time for the London Olympics.

The over-the-top ride comes with designer bells and whistles: taking cues from artisanal mechanics, there are no gears, and the break mechanics are incorporated into the body of the bike for a streamlined look.

Wrought from stainless steel and hand-finished in a gorgeous leopard print, the D&G Animalier Bicycle is as functional as it is flashy: coated with an all-weather varnish and rigged with a plush leather seat and aluminium basket in front, the limited edition bike will be available for about €1700 (about R17,400)  at select Dolce & Gabbana boutiques worldwide.

This bicycle definitely makes us consider taking up cycling!
